A few weeks later, I asked a friend if she wanted to join me, since this would be more of a photo and nature hike and I knew, we would be a good fit for this exploratory adventure. Trail number 35 has some loose soil with stones (as most trails here have) and a few crevices - so watching where one steps is vital and using hiking sticks comes in handy, I recommend them if you tend to get off balance while walking. As we go through a gate the road changes into a most wonderful country lane lined with trees on both sides with birds flying here and there around us and singing happily. A morpho butterfly flutters past us alongside following trail as, we leisurely walk along catching glimpses. My thoughts as we continue to walk is that this beautiful road appears to go on and on and so after walking a couple of hours, we turn back but, guess what not a single car drove by and my thoughts are this beautiful country lane appears to go on forever. The Palmira area has many old country roads intertwining one another - one or several roads lead into Potrerillos another one leaves from Alto Boquete leading up onto Palmira Centro on an off track old indigenous Ngäbe/Gnobe path which, we have blazed few times. The Easy Wednesday group does not hike this type of trail, but the other group in the Boquete Nature Hike has.
I love exploring new trails and so after six years of hiking the many beautiful trails in and around Boquete a new trails is always a pleasure to explore, I am always grateful to find and or discover again a trail off the beaten path....thank you, thank you for letting us walk these beautiful highlands of Boquete in Panama!
