We have had beautiful sunny mornings a great way to begin our hikes Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. As of late it has been cloudy, so when, I wake up get out of bed, I immediately peek a window to see if the sky is blue or cloudy. One immediately knows, how the morning will turn out and if the sun will follow us during a hike and when it does it is always pure pleasure, but, I must add hiking in the clouds makes for an interesting trek on some of the lonely old roads or trail way up in the highlands of Boquete as the photos below show. One's view of nature is totally an awesome experience which changes every moment and with each season.
Last week on, our "Easy Wednesday Walking Hike", we hiked in an area which, I have named "Lucero Trail". It is a high end residential community, overlooking the Pacific Coastline, Inlets and Talamanca Mountain Range. Those who live in Lucero have a million dollar view, although everything comes with it's pros and cons and the cons here for some, is that it's far away from a lot places, such as the town of Bajo Boquete where one goes grocery shopping, run errands and the place where everything happening.
Thursday's group is for the more experienced hiker or for those of us who like to hike for hours and hours. On Thursday, we hiked over 7 miles beginning in town across the only bridge in Bajo Boquete. We hiked a wide loop on an old country road full of small stones, going through the area of Jaramillo Centro which has the best view of the Volcan Baru continuing through communities making the loop back into Bajo Boquete and at the end of a long walk the pièce de résistance stopping at Sugar & Spice for lunch.
This was a truly wonderful hike with great friends and visitors meeting for the first time at one of the Tuesday meeting's. The couple has joined us several times during there stay and both really liked Boquete. A very nice couple from Canada, who are traveling to Ecuador, trying to find their paradise. I wish them the very best.
