The other back country road, we've hiked to Caldera begins from Boquete. We, begin in the La Estrella/El Valle Represa or water reservoir, it was a long hike but well worth it. At the time the Rancho de Caldera was open and that was our destination. I had made reservations for lunch at the restaurant and hotel at the time with a swimming pool which some of us took advantage of.
About a month ago, we hiked a different road passing the Caldera hot springs and hiked into Paja Sombrero. A long hike, but definitely worth it. To our surprise after speaking to locals along the way, we found out there was a small store. We stop had a soda and decided to rest in the back where it would be cooler and in the shade. To our surprise there were two large pool tables, two of hikers wanted to play and asked the store keeper how much it would be for each to shoot pool. We were told .25 cents! Here, we were in middle of a small town shooting pool, relaxing in the shaded patio, having fun. Explore Dream Discover
