For you nature lovers this is the best way to see all that nature has to offer. You really do not have to go off trek to the wild side of Boquete although, you do have to go just a bit "off the beaten path" in an area where few cars travel.
I guided a nature walk this past week with my wonderful and beautiful daughter and grand-daughter who were visiting and visitors who had won a trip to Panama, they came to Boquete for a few days. They had a blast as, we walked through a small rain forest area in Bajo Mono finding a variety of mushrooms, Long Antenna beetle, fuzzy cute caterpillar and several beautiful waterfalls. We then went to lunch at the La Lerida Hotel restaurant to end our afternoon. We were to go out to dinner that evening but, they were exhausted from the afternoon's adventure being it was their first day in Boquete.
The EZ Friday Boquete Nature Walks was in an area, I am so familiar with. An area, I have walked many, many times and did so last month with the Boquete Nature Hikes Groups for the more intermediate to advanced group, I organize.
Friday's Nature Walk was wonderful and full of nature activity as, we spotted a variety of butterflies, Turkey Tail Mushrooms, a troop of roaming horses noshing on the grass growing near a water channel, a small army of green caterpillars camouflaged on one of the many Mimosa pudica growing alongside the path and cattle being herded, as well as some very different flora species.
Nature walks are so much fun especially when with a group of novices who are interested in learning more about their surroundings. I for one am still learning something new about nature in this wonderful place even after 8 years, as there is still a lot more to learn and am so excited to find out more on my next nature walk "off the beaten path" here in Panama.
